Crisis Intervention, Autism, and Developmental Disabilities: Considerations for De-escalation

JunJune 18 2024

11:00am - 12:30pm

Description

This webinar will focus on considerations, tools, and strategies for improving communication in the context of crisis de-escalation with individuals with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities. In many crisis situations, however, the responder does not know if the person in crisis has a disability. As such, we will also be discussing the fact that communication challenges are not unique to people with disabilities, and the importance of establishing foundational communication strategies that can reduce miscommunication and frustration in any crisis situation.

Individuals may submit questions for the presenters in advance through the registration process.

This session will have human generated real-time captioning provided.
