NEW THIS YEAR:  APAC-BE Exam Offered!!

The Great Plains ADA Center is thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with the Accessibility Professionals Association (APA) Certification Program. For the first time, the APA Certification Exam in the Built Environment (APAC-BE), the only national certification exam for accessibility in the built environment, will be offered at the National ADA Symposium. This joint initiative signifies our commitment to advancing the professional growth and recognition of individuals within the accessibility industry.

The written exam will be offered during the Symposium on Tuesday, June 11th from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. ADA Symposium attendees taking the exam will receive the APA member rate, a complimentary year of APA membership, and waiver of the testing fee (a total value of over $600).  Your application must be approved before you can sit for the exam.  The application deadline is May 24th and seating is limited.  If you are interested in applying for this exam, you may do so at https://form.jotform.com/223044091869055

A national certification exam has long been needed in the accessibility profession, as requirements differ widely from state to state. APAC-BEs show their dedication to upholding the standards of accessibility, a commitment to superior professionalism, and an ongoing pursuit of knowledge in the profession. Visit APACExam.org for more information on eligibility, exam fees, and the application process. ACTCP credit may be available; check the APAC website for updates.

APA (Accessibility Professionals Association)  is a national association of accessibility professionals with knowledge and expertise in the built and physical environment. APA provides resources, a forum, and continuing education, and members include accessibility specialists, architects, interior designers, engineers, ADA coordinators, building officials, and others who work to make the world a more accessible place. Visit AccessibilityProfessionals.org to learn more.  APAC will also be at Exhibit Booth #7 so be sure to stop by, say hello and to find out more.
