The California Civil Rights Department (CRD) has new resources that talk about protections for people across the State, including those with disabilities. Through new fact sheets and trainings, they are letting Californians know about their rights and to report discrimination.
These resources include:
- New sessions of CRD’s Civil Rights 101 webinar series.
- In-depth guidance on Californians’ civil rights at California businesses.
- A new webpage to help make sure Californians understand their rights during disasters.
- Updates to existing materials — such as general information on employment discrimination, hate violence, and paid family leave — in response to changes to state civil rights protections.
- Information on new 2025 civil rights laws and protections, including Senate Bill 1100. It is now unlawful for employers to include a statement in a job posting or application requiring a person to have a driver’s license to apply unless the employer reasonably expects driving to be one of the functions for the position and an alternative form of transportation would not be work.
